Not necessarily. Managing experience is challenging, especially in trades with licensing requirements. Variables include owning the license, having a team member with it, or securing one post-closure. SBA lenders focus on risk mitigation, demanding assurance of license continuity. Our group addresses this aspect and others. Certain professions like accounting offer lenders confidence. Buyers must prove capability not just in acquisition but in business success. Our support calls address post-closure issues, emphasizing the broader goal of scaling and building generational wealth.

  • Specializing in SBA lending, we assist businesses in acquiring profitable ventures through primarily SBA loans, requiring a 5% to 10% equity injection from the buyer. We avoid unconventional financing methods, focusing on proven strategies based on extensive deal experience. Recognizing the importance of cash for sellers, we emphasize the need for a loan to facilitate buyouts. With SBA backing, buyers become all-cash buyers, presenting an appealing offer to sellers.

Ideally, you should have 10% of the deal’s transaction value saved before shopping, but our members have various down payment options:

 

  • 10%+ in Checking or Savings Accounts (with multiple-month statements to back it up)
  • Retirement Accounts (i.e. 401k, Solo K, or IRAs) Some of our members use ROBS (Roll Over for Business Startups) to obtain money from their Retirement Accounts to use as leverage for their down payment

  • Gifts (so long as there is paperwork to confirm)

Ideally, your credit score needs to be at least 680 or higher. Don’t worry if it’s not where it needs to be before joining our group. There are many ways to fix your credit score and get in tip-top shape before you start talking with lenders.  Don’t let this be a reason for you not to move forward.

Yes, you can. However, you will not be able to obtain an SBA loan unless you are a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident, which is our main strategy for business acquisition.

Yes. You will be able to have occasional 1-on-1 support from either Leo or one of our coaches on an as-needed basis during your business acquisition journey.
